With Innumerable and spontaneous showers of the blessings of the Almighty, Arcot Sri Mahaalakshmi Women's College was started in the year 1999 to fulfill the long demand of people in and around Arcot for the upliftment of underprivileged girls and to propagate women's education in the society .The college is situated on the main road between Arcot to Arni in a vast area of land. Our college is totally committed to quality. Its main interest is selfless service.

This is a self-financial institution started in Vellore District and affiliated to the University of Madras from the Academic year 1999-2000. To begin with, Five UG courses were offered with the total strength of seventy five students and seven faculty members, From the year 2003 the college has been affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University. The college began to upgrade and enhance itself with the introduction of new courses. At present the college has Thirteen various disciplines to its credit.In response to the great demand from the students P.G courses M.Sc IT, M.ScMaths & M.com were introduced in the year 2002. Gradually it facilitated with the introduction of other P.G courses like MA English and MBA.

Due to the anticipation of students, at present it has seven PG courses. M.Phil course was also introduced in the year 2014. Because of the academic excellence, discipline, the character formation and moral valued education in the rural atmosphere, our college has cherished its nobility and fascinating rapport in the hearts of the people in and around Vellore.
