A Home away from Home

ASMWC provides excellent hostel facilities for outstation students with a homely atmosphere and spacious buildings with a centralized kitchen and dining halls. Fully-furnished rooms are available in the hostel. Supervisors and wardens help the students and maintain discipline and order in the hostel.

Food

Food is served from the centralized kitchen of the hostel and the menu is chosen by the students which is executed by the hostel warden. The Mess has a modern kitchen to provide delicious, healthy and hygienic food. Unlimited food, snacks & milk is provided to the hostel students.

Common Facilities

The rooms are provided with all amenities. There is a Hygiene Committee which looks after the cleanliness of the rooms and toilets in the hostel. A separate generator is available to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hostel and mess.

Hostel Authority

The Principal is the Chief Warden of the Hostel with separate Deputy Wardens appointed for hostel. The hostel students form a Hostel Council where student council members are selected to serve as representatives for the hostel students. The council members coordinate with the Deputy Wardens and cater to the needs and grievances of the hostel students. Council meetings are held periodically where hostel issues are discussed and sorted out.

Hostel Rules

• Rooms once allotted to the students for an academic year, will not be changed.
• Students should not tamper with any of the electrical and other permanent fittings in the room and any loss or damage shall be recovered from the occupants concerned.
• Unauthorized use of electrical appliances will lead to expulsion of the student from the hostel.
• Any student who is removed from the college will automatically cease to be a member of the hostel. Accommodation in the hostel will not be given to students who are not active boarders in the hostel.
• Day scholars are not permitted to enter the hostel for any reason.
• No person or student other than the boarder should be found in the hostel. If anyone is found, action will be taken against the boarder in whose room the person is found.
• Students should not paste any posters/pictures etc on the walls and doors, windows and shelves.
• When students go out of their rooms during night for a fairly longer duration, they should switch off the lights.
• Ragging in any form is totally prohibited. The offenders will be severely dealt with, by way of expulsion from the colleges as well as the hostel.
• Students who join the hostel will not be permitted to vacate until they complete the course, failing which they will abide by the action taken by the Principal.
• Only the authorized persons (including parents) are permitted to visit their wards. For this purpose, visiting cards with photos of the authorized persons affixed and attested by the warden are given to the inmate. Whenever they visit their wards, they should bring the visiting cards issued by the hostel authorities.
