Minority Cell


Minority Cell

The Minority Cell of the college is established with the purpose of empowering students belonging to minority communities. It provides support to students from Christian, Muslim, and other minority groups. The cell facilitates financial assistance through government and non-government schemes and ensures equal educational opportunities. It also encourages students to participate in career-oriented programmes such as Soft Skills Training, Entrepreneurship Training, Prayaan, and NET Coaching to help them develop essential skills for career advancement.

Objectives

  • To enhance equal opportunities for education among students of minority communities.
  • To facilitate financial support for minority students through governmental agencies and other sources.
    To create awareness among minority students regarding various scholarship programmes of the State Government and UGC.
  • To take follow-up measures for achieving the objectives laid down by the Government of India and UGC.
  • To ensure a safe and secure environment for all minority students on campus.
  • To encourage students to enroll in career-oriented programmes that help them develop necessary skills for future career paths.
  • To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising due to events on campus.
  • To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India.

Nature of Activities of the Cell

  • Collecting reports and information related to State Government and UGC orders regarding education and employment opportunities for minority students.
  • Circulating government and UGC updates about various scholarship programmes.
  • Communicating with minority students and motivating them for better future planning.
  • Providing assistance through counseling, personality development sessions, communication skill enhancement, and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes.
  • Coordinating and resolving issues related to coaching and other academic support measures to ensure that the education system meets both quantitative and qualitative standards equivalent to the general society.
