Swatchtaa Activity Plan (SAP) Committee


SWACHHTA ACTION PLAN COMMITTEE

Swachhta Action Plan (SAP) committee constructed by following the guidelines from Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAP COMMITTEE

 

The roles and responsibilities of SAP committee are as follows,

 

  •      Facilitating design of specific interventions for making the campus clean and green by following international standards and accepted parameters.
  •     Building consensus on the need for maintaining a Clean and Green Campus among campus leaders at student, teaching and non teaching level.
  •   Execution of 5 R principles such as reduce, reuse, recycle, refuse and regenerate in the campus and adopted villages
  •   Insisting optimum use of water, reuse of treated water, water saving appliances and water recycling among students and faculties through awareness programs
  •         Monitoring the existing environmental performance of the campus in a participatory and transparent way.
  •         Generation of porous pavements and rainwater harvesting structures in the campus
  •         Reduction of waste production in the campus as much as possible
  •         Banning all plastic disposable items from the campus.
  •         Drawing lessons for handling computer & electronic equipment and other e-wastes from Swachh campaign activities
  •         Introduction of solar energy and reduction in energy consumption through technologies and management processes
  •         Growing endemic and endangered species of trees covering at least 33% of land area on campus.
  •         Construction and maintenance of herbal garden to enhance the traditional medicinal plants in our campus

 

 

SAP Committee aims to work as per predesigned targets related to the following five components in our campus and adopted villages.

  1. Campus Greenery
  2. Water conservation
  3. Energy conservation
  4. Waste Management
  5. Good sanitation and hygiene practices

 

 “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.” is the mantra of SAP.
