Ø It acts as a link between the library, students, faculty members, and the college management.
Ø The Committee advises the Librarian on important matters.
Ø The Librarian manages the daily work of the library.
Ø The Committee supports quality education by providing good learning resources.
Ø It promotes reading habits and lifelong learning.
Ø The Committee meets once every semester.
Ø It discusses library collection, infrastructure, budget, and user services.
Ø It mainly focuses on purchasing books, journals, and e-resources.
Objectives of the Library Advisory Committee
Ø To frame library rules and policies.
Ø To approve the library budget and fund allocation.
Ø To guide the Librarian in library development.
Ø To decide on purchase and removal of books and other materials.
Ø To provide necessary facilities like furniture, equipment, and staff.
Ø To ensure proper administration of the library.
Functions of the Committee
- To give suggestions for purchasing books, journals, and e-resources.
- To improve library services and collections.
- To consider suggestions from faculty and students.
- To monitor the use of library funds by departments.
- To collect feedback and improve library facilities.
- To submit a report every semester to the IQAC and Principal.
